Roberto Lopez funeral to be held at Los Angeles cathedral

Funeral services for four-year-old Roberto Lopez, who was slain last week during a shooting in the southern edge of Echo Park, will be held this Friday at 9 a.m. at the Cathedral of our Lady of the Angels, according to people familiar with the plans. Cardinal Roger Mahoney is expected to lead the service at the downtown Los Angeles cathedral, which is located only a few blocks east from where Roberto was shot while walking with his sister on Court Street.

The alleged gang member who was charged with Roberto’s murder is being held in jail on $2 million bail, according to the LA Times.
