What does the well dressed Eastsider wear to a presidential inaugural?

Bow ties, apparently. That’s what councilman Eric Garcetti and artist Shepard Fairey will be wearing as they attend inaugural galas, balls and other events in Washington D.C., according to the LA Times. Fairey, the Echo Park-based artist who created the Obama poster, will sport a bow tie at formal events with his “pretty snappy Marc Jacobs slate-gray suit” and Prada shoes. Echo park resident Garcetti, meanwhile, will be wearing a Ralph Lauren tuxedo and a hand-tied, bow tie. And, yes, the man knows how to tie a bow-tie.

“Absolutely. I learned in college; it’s like tying your shoes.”
