You never know what you will find in your recycling bin

It was the night before trash day last week when a friend of The Eastsider named “Glo” went outside to move her blue recycling bin to the curb in front of her Laguna Avenue apartment. But the blue bin wouldn’t budge, and she joked with some neighbor boys that perhaps someone had dumped a body in it. She opened the lid, took a look inside and grew quiet. “It was filled with porn,” said Flo, who picked up and opened one of the shiny magazines and came upon across a photo of a nude man.

The bin is actually filled with copies of Cybersocket, a free Gay publication featuring a photo of a burly guy named Steve Cruz and a line that reads “Like you’ve never felt him before.” A trash can of gay porn certainly trumps the 25 empty pizza boxes Flo once found stuffed into the same bin. By the way, if you couldn’t find a copy of Cybersocket at Circus of Books in Silver Lake, head over to Laguna Avenue on Echo Park and check out some of the blue bins.

“The garbage men didn’t pick it up,” said Glo of her unwanted magazine collection. “It’s still in front of my house.”
