Echo Park structure fire *

It took firefighters about 40 minutes to knock down a fire at 2130 Echo Park Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Twitter feed. The fire was reported out at about 6:30 p.m. No injuries were reported. Traffic on Echo Park Avenue was blocked.

* Update: Firefighters encountered “pack-rat” conditions and the bodies of 10 cats in the home, according to LAFD.
