Dear Eastsider: What happened to my taco truck?

The Eastsider doesn’t pretend to know it all (if he did would he be blogging for free?) Anyway, here is a random sampling of reader emails and questions that need to be answered. If you have any info to share, please do so with a comment.

Missing Taco Truck: A Highland Park reader who wishes to remain anonymous asks if anyone knows the whereabouts of a taco truck that used to park outside the Food 4 Less on Figueroa.

“What happened to that great Valley-based truck with the Honda generator mounted in front? Righteous $1 tacos with fresh lemon, radish, cucumber, hot sauce. Haven’t seen them since the crackdown…”

Cops at the Skate Park: Anne A. from Highland Park is still trying to figure out what happened at the skate park near Luther Burbank Middle School on Sunday.

“I did a search for this but couldn’t find anything, so I was wondering if you knew anything about the police activity at the skate park yesterday evening, at around 6:30 PM. There were multiple police cars, one parked up on the grass of the park, plus a helicopter circling overhead. I live right up the street and was wondering what happened.”

Missing Gas Station: Kathleen from Echo Park wonders what’s going on at the gas station at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Portia:

“Have you covered what is up with the Meghna Gas? Did the sausage and onion vendors finally put too much of a crimp in their snack shop sales? No, really, now they just put up a chain link fence around the whole property.”
