Does neighborhood outreach cause cavities?

Bob Gotham, president of The Eagle Rock Assn., was pleased that the organization’s booth at the Eagle Rock Music Festival attracted a lot of visitors once a bowl of free candy was placed on the table. But, he noted in the TERA Newsletter, many of those who stop by turned out to be kids who had just come from the adjacent booth staffed by a dental clinic:

“Over and over, children went from receiving their balloon from the dentists, wearing smocks with cheery children messages, to our table where they popped a piece of candy in their mouth.”
