Update on transgender killing: America’s Most Wanted will feature a segment on the search for a man suspected of killing 24-year-old transgendered resident Paulina Ibarra last August in her East Hollywood apartment. The Saturday night segment (8 PM on Channel 11) is the most recent effort by the LAPD to track down Jesus Catalan, who frequents East Hollywood and the Rampart District.

After seeking him out as a person of interest, police later collected enough evidence to identify Catalan as a suspect in the murder, said Lt. Wes Buhrmester with the Rampart Division. “DNA results confirmed his presence at the scene, and he now has a no-bail murder warrant for his arrest,” Buhrmester said.

The America’s Most Wanted segment will reveal more details about the crime and the life of Paulina Ibarra, formerly Jose “Pepe” Ibarra, who adopted the name of one of his favorite singers.
