Another boozy night in Echo Park: LAPD Lt. Wes Buhrmester, who took some time to look more closely at some recent Echo Park and Silver Lake street robberies, dug up these details about a late night incident at Sunset Boulevard at Portia Street that featured a brawl between a women and a group of men, a taxi and alcohol.

“The report bearing DR No. 09-0222396 (Sunset Bl. & Portia St.)
was an unusual incident, where a female was fighting several males. A taxi was driving by, with two women in it as fares. The two women observed the fight and had the cab driver pull to the curb. The cab passengers intervened, and one was struck and had her cell phone and purse taken while she was calling the police. No serious injuries were inflicted. Oddly, the original woman who was involved in the fight refused to give our officers a reason the fight was taking place. She was intoxicated at the time, so at a later date our detectives will speak with her to fill in some blanks.”
