El Sereno makes room for another McMansion

The real estate market and economy are still lousy but that apparently has not snuffed out the demand for McMansions. This one rising in the 3800 block of Collis Avenue of El Sereno is technically a remodel of a one-story house built in 1938 in what is called the Pasadena Villa Tract. The tree shaded street cuts through a narrow valley and is lined mostly with one-story houses built in the late 1930s and 1940s. A large, two story house wedged into a lot stands out. The old house (photographed below) was not much to look at but it certainly did not loom over its neighbors.

  1. We are welcoming the improvement to Collis, now hopefully more neighbors will also do a little clean up on there homes.
