Five injured in MTA bus accident in Echo Park

Five people suffered minor injuries when an MTA bus and a truck collided tonight on Glendale Boulevard near the 2 Freeway on the border of Echo Park and Silver Lake, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It was only about two months ago that an MTA bus and a car collided near the same location in an accident that left about twenty people injured.

A police traffic officer told CBS2 that a truck hit a guardrail before slamming into the bus.

The LAFD, which reported the incident at about 9 PM, said the accident took place at 1862 N. Glendale Boulevard.

Update @ 10:54 PM: A resident who drove by said the accident took place in front of the mini mall at Glendale Boulevard and Allesandro Street. Part of Glendale Bouelvard was still blocked at about 10:45 PM, and traffic was being sent into residential streets. “Cars being rerouted over Alvarado, and Fargo looks like a parking lot,” said one resident via text message.
