LAPD seeks youths suspected of Echo Park car vandalism

The LAPD issued a Community Alert seeking the public’s assistance in finding several young Latino boys and teens – ages 12 to 14 – suspected of vandalizing numerous cars on December 29 near Avon and Baxter Street in Elysian Heights and Echo Park. “We believe the subjects reside near or around the area where the crimes were committed,” said the alert.

Residents reported numerous cases of vandalism during the holidays, including tagging along Echo Park Avenue and damaged cars along Baxter Street. Also, on Valentine Street, the side of a Prius was spray painted on Christmas morning, according to a photo and item posted on Twitter. It’s not known, however, whether the youths believed responsible for the December 29 acts of vandalism were also involved in the other cases.
