Cuban protesters gather at Echo Park Lake

A small group of Cuban Americans staged a protest in Echo Park this afternoon following the death of Cuban dissident Orlando Zapata Tamayo, who died in a Havana prison after an 80-day hunger strike. The protesters gathered around the bust of Cuban poet Jose Marti in the northwest corner of the park.
