Update on Silver Lake death

Police are awaiting autopsy results to help determine what killed a man found lying in the middle of a Silver Lake street Tuesday night near Sunset Junction. LAPD homicide detective Lisa Governo said this morning that it’s still not clear how or why the victim – described as a Latino male in his 30s – died. A gun was found near the victim on Manzanita Street north of Sunset Boulevard but the body showed no visible signs of trauma, Governo said. Some initial reports said the victim had suffered a gunshot to the head but that turned out not to be the case, she added. “We don’t know how he died or what he died from,” she said. “We will have to wait for the autopsy to determine what happened out there. “
