Echo Park hillside for sale

The open swath of hillside that runs between Morton Avenue and Sargent Place in Echo Park has long been eyed by developers, including a proposal a few years ago to slice away part of the hillside and build a new tract of homes. The developer would build a new street off Bruce Court to access about a dozen proposed homes. But that ambitious plan fell apart like the real estate market, and the only activity on that land was limited to the owner trucking in dirt from other parts of town. Now, that same property – chopped up into 14 vacant lots – is up for sale at an asking price of $1.79 million. “Perfect for developer. Geo and Survey in listing office. Owner may consider carry loan,” reads the listing on Trulia. It’s not clear when anything will be built but let’s just hope its better looking than the last round of Echo Park development.
