This Angeleno Heights home is haunted – by a TV show

Angeleno Heights is filled with jaw-dropping, over-the-top Victorian homes. But the most popular and well known of these homes – a burgundy-colored Eastlake-style Victorian built in 1887 – is not famous because of its architecture or connection to an important historical figure. Instead, it’s a TV show – Charmed – that turned this Carroll Avenue house into an international real estate celebrity known as “Halliwell Manor,” the fictional home base and “spiritual nexus” for the supernatural Halliwell sisters. The show’s final episode aired four years ago but passionate fans continue to search out the “Charmed House” and have posted videos of their visits on YouTube. Some people have posted virtual versions of Halliwell Manor, and at least one video – Casa de embrujadas en Los Angeles – is in Spanish. While some people keep a respectful distance from the house, a few fans can’t help but take their video cameras on to the front steps to shoot scenes like the ones above. “I’m afraid that the owners is going to catch us,” said the person shooting the video.

A few visitors can’t contain their excitement: “Please don’t mind the stupid laugh at the beginning. I was just highly excited,” said one woman in the description of her five-minute long video visit.
