New green space takes shape at Silver Lake & Parkman *

Volunteers spent another Saturday this past weekend transforming a former barren patch of asphalt at Parkman Avenue and Silver Lake Boulevard into a piece of parkland. The most recent work day saw the planting of drought-resistant grasses, giving the Parkman Triangle in Silver Lake a greener – as well as fuzzier – look. Another volunteer work day is scheduled for next Sunday at 11 AM. “We’ll have a lot more plants to plant,” said organizer Ara Babaian said in an email. “We’re almost there!”

* Correction: The previous version of this story said the next volunteer day will be on Saturday. The correct day is Sunday.
