Police have arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in late December as she was headed to a Silver Lake night club. Luis Noches, 19, was arrested on March 29 south of downtown Los Angeles after police tracked a call he made on the victim’s cell phone during the attack on Vendome Street, said Lt. Wes Buhrmester with the Rampart Division. “Physical evidence was also discovered at the crime scene, and about two weeks ago it was linked to Mr. Noches,” said Buhrmester, who provided more details about the arrest in a comment.
Meanwhile, in Boyle Heights, police have arrested on adult and two juveniles in connection with the Monday afternoon murder of a 26-year-old tagger in an alley. The victim, Moses Castro, was a member of a tagging crew known as CTM, said Senior Lead Officer Daniel Rios with the Hollenbeck Division. Castro was killed at about 1 PM on March 29 in the alley behind the 2500 block of Michigan Avenue.
Rios also informed residents of Boyle Heights, which has been plagued with numerous violent robberies and aggravated assaults, that 17 additional officers have been assigned to the Hollenbeck Division following the break up of some specialized LAPD units.
