Evening view from Laveta Terrace

Dirk Bohrig, visiting from Germany, captured this view while staying at the Tom of Finland Foundation house on Laveta Terrace in Echo Park.  “I enjoy living [on] Laveta, but I am a German and living in Hamburg.” Click here for more of Bohrig’s  Laveta Terrace pictures.

  1. Ahh…so the trees on Laveta are the culprit. We’re over on the Delta/Lucrita/Grafton hill, and from our perspective there’s a row of palms on the top of the ridge that block our view of downtown. These are the same trees in these pics. Cool photos though!

  2. Damn I miss living there! I used to live on the corner of Scott Ave and Laveta Terrace. Before it was a light yellow house, now its a light brownish colored house. My aunt still lives on that street now. We live on one end and my aunt lives on the other end of the street. I love the palm trees on that streets. We lived there for more than 20 years!!! Echo Park rocks! I recalled I used to go to the OLD small Pioneer Market on Echo Park avenue until they tore it down and built a bigger one. I think now it is either a Walgreen.

  3. Buster Joe can insult us by calling us the poor Silverlake, he can make fun of our Hipsters & Hoodsters, but Atwater will never have this view. This is the heart of the city, and truthfully Atwater is not all that. Joe must be an idiot to think that his own hood doesn’t have the same type of people living there, and I’m pretty sure that he has heard of the Tuna Fish Gang in AV. Hey Buster I’m up in Angelino Height, come cruise up to Carrol Ave. and then tell me what AV has. A nice view of the L.A. River. I’ll take the nice view of Downtown any day. By the way, stay in AV, if you don’t like EP. Thanks!
