Grass fire breaks out in El Sereno

The fire burned about six acres this afternoon near the 2500 block of Soto Street near Mission Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.  The fire was “contained but not extinguished” at about 6 PM, LAFD spokesman Erik Scott reported on the department Twitter feed.  About 100 fire fighters were battling the blaze on the ground and in the air. There were no reports of injuries or damaged structures, according to preliminary reports.
