Save the Date: Weekend Edition

The worlds of art and soccer will meet – or clash – in the southern fringe of Echo Park during the first Outpost Cup Futbol Day on Sunday at Vista Hermosa Park. The event – a fundraiser for Highland Park-based Outpost for Contemporary Art – includes teams with such names as The Killer Tomatoes  and  The Big Wheelers, a team whose name was inspired by the artwork of Chris Burden. In between matches there will be art, music and performance. Also on Sunday there will more music and art at Lummis Day in Montecito Heights. Machine Project in Echo Park will also launch a first in a series of events linked to the Ring Cycle Festival. There are also fundraisers for Mount Washington Elementary and the Citizens Committee to Save Elysian Park. Don’t forget the Silver Lake class on urban beekeeping. More details in the Save the Date Calendar Listings.
