Storefront Report: Art framer returns to Echo Park

A former Chinese herb store on Sunset Boulevard  is the new home for Ballard’s Artwork Framing.   Aaron Ballard said he expect to start working out of the narrow store front, located in the 1500 block of Sunset Boulevard next to the Bank of America, later this week but won’t have an official opening until the end of July. Ballard’s new shop is only about three blocks away from his old store, which he closed earlier this year following a dispute with the landlord.   The move into a larger space will permit Ballard to display the work of local artists and share the space with Raven & Lilly, a nonprofit that sells items used to support impoverished women. “My hope is that the space may be a warmth of love and knowledge through art, design, and good ol’ hangin’ out!”

  1. Great news! Aaron does great work. I have two stunning custom framed items he did for me with great attention to detail and I get comments on them all the time. Don’t go to Aaron Bros., go to Aaron Ballard’s!!

  2. I can not say enough great things about Aaron! He has done three custom designed frames for me so far and also stretched and boarded my paintings. He does such amazing work and is a pleasure to work with! I highly recommend him!
