Performers from Chicano theater companies and other artists gathered Saturday in El Sereno for the first Los Angeles Street Theater Festival. Much of the action, however, took place off the street, in the El Sereno Community garden, where  about 50 people sitting in folding chairs watch the performances.    Photographer Aurelio José Barrera was there and captured these images. The two-day event also included workshops on Friday.
