Flames and water dropping helicopters complicate the evening commute

Commuters heading northbound on the 110 Arroyo Seco Parkway not only had to brave Dodger game day traffic but also faced the sight of flames and smoke coming from a small brush fire that broke out in Elysian Park at about 6 PM. Flames came close to the fast lane just north of the Dodger Stadium exit as a flotilla of water-dropping helicopters- which were visible to fans at the stadium –  hit the fire from above. A total of three acres were burned, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
