The colors of Echo Park Lake

Photos by Martin Cox

Echo Park resident Martin Cox has noted that Echo Park Lake seems to have adopted a two-tone color scheme, with the water in the northern section appearing neon-green while muddy-brown seems to be the predominate color on the south end.  Recreation and Parks worker David Foster said it looks as if some algae  is responsible for the lake’s color scheme, which apparently does not include blue.
