Many Atwater Village merchants and restaurants along Glendale Boulevard will stay open late on Thursday for Summer Nights on the Boulevard. The idea of the event – which also includes live entertainment, community & artists’ booths, kids activities and a pet adoption – is to draw residents from near and far to the shopping strip, said Lenora Pitts, co-chair of the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council, which is hosting the event. Pitts said:
“We are hoping to get the community out and walking the boulevard, meeting each other, and perhaps discovering a shop or a restaurant they hadn’t noticed before.”
The second Summer Nights event is scheduled for September 23.
