Update on empty Echo Park lot

The Eastsider posted a story earlier this month about the clean up of a trash-filled lot at the corner of Glendale Boulevard and Montana Street.  At one point Council District 13 proposed purchasing the former Echo Park gas station property for parkland. That never happened. Council district spokesman Yusef Robb said the property was sold to a developer as the city was negotiating to buy the 5,700-square foot parcel.  Now the council officer is working with the current owner. Said Robb:

“They are looking at what to build there now: we’d like to see something less ‘industrial’ than what is around there, and we’re speaking with them to note community concerns.”
