Police respond to fight at Echo Park Lake tonight

LAPD police helicopter over Echo Park.Several LAPD squad cars and a helicopter descended on the north end of Echo Park Lake at   about 9:30 P.M. after receiving reports of a fight and possibly a shooting.  But officer P. Espinoza with the Rampart Division said there was no shooting. He said the fight involved a man who lives in a vehicle parked near the lake and a nearby resident. Both men know each other and have feuded in the past, he said. No arrests were made and one of the men was advised to seek a restraining order against the other,  Espinoza said.

  1. Just heard a cop car speaker tell some dude to get out of his van with his hands up right outside my house. I assume this is related. crazy!

  2. I am always supportive of LAPD but tonight when I was coming home from working at TAIX the stopped me from going through to my home. As I turned on Logan as instructed by an tall Asian officer I told him I lived on the other side of the lake. His response to me “go someplace and go home later” was not the response I expected. He also said there was an incident ahead. My point is that he was not very polite.
By the time I hit Sunset to turn right I saw all the police leaving. Go home later was not a very good option.

  3. Same thing has happened to me Glo, 3 times. Incident near my house, police won’t let me by or around, nor would let me know what was happening.
And in one incident I was told to ‘Go Fuck Myself’.
While I know they have a job to do, they don’t have to be such assholes about it.
(and in none of those cases was the crime actually in progress).
