Echo Curio brews up a plan to stay in business

Fans of the Echo Curio Curiosity Shop & Gallery were saddened earlier this month when the owners of  the Echo Park art space said they would likely close up shop by year’s end after police  forced them to stop hosting live music without the proper permits.  But th  owners have announced they think they have found a solution to get the proper permits and stay open: tea. The owners explain the strategy on their blog:

“We are getting plans drafted up, buying ourselves the trappings of a tea room (serving hot and cold tea in to-go cups), and then going for that coveted Entertainment License… look out!!!  Expect the water to boil in early 2011… and some benefit shows beforehand.”

  1. So they’re going to have benefit shows before they get their entertainment permit? This is going to get real funny, real quick.

  2. they didn’t say benefit shows @ echo curio, you dingus.
