Meet me at Remy Square

The City Council today adopted a motion to name the intersection of Alvarado and Temple streets in Historic Filipinotown to Remedios ‘Remy’ V. Geaga Square, according to Echo Park neighborhood council president Jose Sigala.  Remy Geaga, who died in 1997, was a  Filipino American activist who helped establish and run several organizations in a neighborhood that has served as a gateway for Filipino immigrants over the decades.
