  1. Once again, I believe it’s Angelino Heights, not Angeleno. This persistent misspelling might make readers believe you’re ignorant about the communities you cover.

  2. @ Picky Picky. The Eastsider sides with the folks who call it Angeleno Heights. Also, while we are at it, The Eastsider spells “Silver Lake” with two words, not “Silverlake.”

  3. So then any word on that Eagle Rock police search last night? The helicopters seemed to be flying real nice and low over the Von’s on Figueroa and Colorado at around 10/11pm and saw a police car with lights flashing tear down our usually quiet street.

  4. @ Fava. The Northeast Division Watch Commander this morning was not aware of a search in that area. There was a police search in Highland Park but it’s not clear if it was connected to what you and others described in Eagle Rock.

  5. The helicopters were out over Fig/Vons until 2am. Around 11:00 pm, they were using the loudspeakers to tell residents to stay in their houses while they searched for a suspect. I would hope the NE Division would remember an operation this loud and big! It is technically Highland Park on the east side of Figueroa, so perhaps this is what he was referring to.

(Also, props on keeping it Silver Lake. Silver was the dude the lake was named after.)

  6. Hey, Picky, Picky, the legal description of my home spells the tract Angeleno Heights.

  7. I too am wondering what was going on last night in eagle rock. My street was blocked off with multiple police vehicles as the helicopter roamed at about 1:00 am. I live between colorado & Yosemite near Rockdale Elementary.

  8. Well, I guess I sit corrected. And I agree it’s Silver Lake. The lake was named after a guy named Silver.
