New York boutique takes a winter break in Echo Park

The Echo Park Independent Co-op, a boutique featuring apparel and accessories created by up-and-coming designers and artists, will serve as a temporary home for a like-minded New York store called Convent. The store from Manhattan’s Lower East Side store will display items for men and women at  its temporary Echo Park outpost  Jan. 26 to  Jan. 30.  What to expect? A little bit of everything, according to a press release:

“Ranging from the outrageous to the sophisticated, CONVENT mixes elements of street wear, goth culture, and 90’s pop fashion. Innovative, international designers such as Don’t Shoot the Messengers, Backstage, Rick Owens’ drkshdw, Cheap Monday, Nakkna and a variety of New York-based, trendsetters such as Sally laPointe, Trisklaidekaphobia, Coco & Breezy, YC: Ying Chi and Dusen Dusen are proudly displayed in their storefront … “

The two stores invite the public to a party at Echo  Park Independent Co-op, 1712 W. Sunset Blvd., on Friday, Jan. 28 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
