  1. that’s really sad. my heart goes out to their friends and family.

  2. Got an email from the Angelino Heights website which said that it was a suicide. Very sad.

  3. At approximately 4:40 pm on January 23, 2011, officers received a call to meeet the fire department regarding a suicide victim in the 1400 block of Kellam Avenue. Mr. Bruce Wilson, 62, lived at that location, and took his life with a handgun, which was recovered at the scene. A suicide note was also located.

  4. Our prayer’s to the family. For those of you who know family or friends dealing with depression take the time to call or go by and visit, say hello to that lonely neighbor next door it looks like we as a people did not learn anything from Arizona when the sick young man killed all those people and all the waring signs where there and one one did nothing. This is what happened to Bruce who we knew our friends are in shock. Its said Bruce told his friend Stan who was going to San Diego late last week that if anything happened to him he could have his belongings. Being a LOOOOG Time resident of Echo Park we know and many people in Angelino Hts. Stan told people he was worried about Bruce. Did anyone listen, NO!…. Can’t say how many people Stan notified but no one saw another troubled person. ONLY DIFFERENCE between this and Arizona was Bruce only took his own life and not other people’s. GUN CONTROL GUN CONTROL GUN CONTROL NOW.
WE WILL HOLD A PRAYER VIGAL TONIGHT AT 7:30 PM PLEASE BRING A WHITE CANDLE. LET US NOT FORGET BRUCE. HIS LIFE WAS PRECIOUS.

  5. All due respect to EchoParkLady and the deceased, but this man taking his own life is not at all the same thing as Jared Loughner going on a killing spree in Arizona, and I think the deceased’s family would resent the comparison.

  6. RIP Bruce I never thought he would do something like that. Last time I seen him was back in 2008. He was cool to smoke with was a good client. He even used to get posted with us on Kellam ave in the old days. Wish we could have smoked one last time. I just got the news thru The Eastsider. sincerely yours Prime
