Storefront Report: SuperPop pops into Echo Park space

The strip of  Glendale Boulevard storefronts near the Sunset Boulevard bridge saw a lot of turn over last year, with a vintage store moving to downtown, a gallery that has gone dormant and a few other spaces that have just sat empty. However, one of these storefronts is now home to SuperPop Graphics, which started operations last October but opened a retail operation at 1176 Glendale Blvd. last week featuring printed t-shirts, tote bags and other items, said owner and graphic designer Juan Frias.  Frias, an Echo Park resident, said he is working with more neighborhood artists to get their designs on merchandise.

“T-shirts and the application of graphics – even photographs on tote bags, baby one-sies, dog shirts, and t-shirts – has slowly become an important part of SuperPop,” said Frias.

The store is open Monday – Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday,  11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  SuperPop does not have a website yet but information is available via its Facebook page and the phone is (213) 353-9498.
