Burglars clean out Silver Lake house as resident takes a shower

NeighborhoodWatchLogo.JPGA Silver Lake woman emerged from her shower this morning to discover that burglars had broken into her  house near Benton Way and Berkeley Avenue , stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry and musical equipment. The woman was unaware of the crime until she finished bathing, said her boyfriend in an email. The man said his girlfriend is fine but wanted to alert neighbors to the daytime crime, which the boyfriend described as a “pretty audacious move.”  The burglars entered through an open bedroom window  at about 10 a.m. One of the stolen items included a guitar valued at about, $1,000.

  1. Wow! Not only audacious but scary, scary, scary.

  2. sounds like maybe someone she might know…any junkie friends? (speaking from experience here)..

  3. Good reason to have large intruder-unfriendly dogs. I think that if they had tried that at my house (I live a block away), I’d emerge from the shower to see a big piece of pant material hanging from my dog’s teeth (or something else a little ‘juicier’).

    Thanks for alert!

  4. I know of several daylight thefts in this neighborhood. A friend of mine – he was also home at the time. He talked to neighbors who had also been robbed. And cars broken into on the same street, windows broken.
