Save the Date: Weekend Edition

The members of the Paco Peña flamenco dance company stomp, strut and twirl  their way across the stage as they put a modern spin on the age-old Spanish dance form during a  Saturday night performance at the Luckman Center at Cal State L.A.  Tonight, in Echo Park, “Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die,” a photography and art exhibit devoted to the California ’70s punk rock scene, holds and opening reception and musical performance. In Highland Park, Avenue 50 Studio presents a weekend of poetry and spoken word, starting with “Black/Brown Dialogues” on Saturday followed on Sunday with readings by Yago Cura and Annette Cruz.

Also this weekend, there will be a machine sewing class in Echo Park, bike maintenance and safety workshop in Highland Park and Scrabble club meeting in Atwater Village. More to do in the Save the Date calendar.
