Attempted robbery reported at Echo Park bank *

Police were investigating a report of an  attempted robbery at the Bank of America branch in Echo Park this afternoon.  Officer Bishop with the LAPD Rampart Division said he had no further details about the attempted robbery that took place at about 1 p.m. at the branch located at corner of Sunset Boulevard and Echo Park Avenue. Some early reports indicate that a man handed a bank teller a note and then ran off but that could not be confirmed.

* Update: The branch remained closed at about 2 p.m. as officers conducted an investigation inside the bank.  An LAPD spokeswoman said no money was taken. Echo Park Patch, in a story later in the day, said police were looking for a male suspect wearing a gray sweater.

  1. Thank God for those Bulletproof tall glass windows they have. But i don’t know about the other workers working on the side desks.

  2. That is such a busy intersection, I am glad no one got hurt! That takes balls.
