Double round of nighttime gunfire rattles Elysian Heights

LAPD police helicopter over Echo Park.An Elysian Heights resident living near Allesandro Street and Oak Glen Place said she heard two rounds of gunfire last night:

“It started around 1 am ( multiple gun shots) and probably an hour later there were more gunshots ( 5 or 6) … The last one sounded really close to my house. I saw police car paroling around my house and helicopter was looking for suspect(s). Someone must have called 911 because their action was really quick. The police car arrived a few minutes after the gunshots.”

An assistant watch commander at the Northeast Division this morning said there were no reports of injuries as a result of the incident.
