The gray skies and occasional sprinkles on Saturday did not dampen enthusiasm on the 2011 Garden of Montecito Heights tour.  A large contingent of visitors toured six gardens in the hillside neighborhood, said Montecito Heights resident Martha Benedict, who took the above photos. The tour, which has been held every year since 2004, serves as a fundraiser for the Montecito Heights Improvement Assn. and a way for neighbors to get to know each other. Said Benedict:

“It sounds corny, but people really do make new friends among their neighbors during this event. Everyone loves to find out who lives where and share garden tips. If you couldn’t make it this year, don’t miss it next time. And consider including your garden on the tour.
