Save the Date: Weekend Edition

Will Saturday night’s  “Supermoon” – what folks are calling the biggest full moon in nearly 20 years – be large and bright enough to be seen through the clouds and rain forecast this weekend? If so, then you might want to stop by Vista Hermosa Park in Echo Park to watch the moon rise and celebrate the Spring equinox. There are also other events this weekend timed to the full moon and spring equinox, including a Saturday night lecture and meditative chant session in Echo Park, a Rites of Spring African Dance class on Sunday in Lincoln Heights  and an hour-long “Spring Equinox Sound Bath” on Monday in Eagle Rock.

In other happenings, Yasmin Levy brings the nearly lost art of Ladino singing to El Sereno on Saturday night, the Atwater library hosts a used books sale and Yogala, a new Echo Park yoga studio, holds a grand opening celebration with free classes and other events. Check  out this week’s Eastside Mix for music picks and find more to do in Save the Date.
