Found: Dog with red collar in Silver Lake

Jennifer is looking for the owner of a dog she found this morning:

I wanted to post about a dog I found this morning running down the middle of the street on N. Benton Way near Scott Ave.  Definitely was lost and confused, but well taken care of.  Has a red collar with white hearts, but no tag.  Very sweet dog.  Please call 323-428-9750.

  1. If you find a dog, the best thing to do is take it to the Lacy St Animal Shelter. That’s the shelter that covers our area. They will check for a microchip, and keep the dog safe. Most owners check the shelters if their dogs are lost. It’s the best way to reunite a lost dog and owner. If the owner doesn’t claim it within a few days, it will be put up for adoption, and the finder (or whoever might want to adopt it) can get it out. It’s very kind of you to rescue the dog from the streets, Jennifer!

  2. I agree with Sandy!

A dog showed up at my house on Elysian Park today (this is not unusual, so we have a regular routine!). Gorgeous well cared for dog. Totally exhausted and out of breath, drank 2 bowls of water. I loaded her up, took her to Lacey St. and had her scanned for a chip. I usually offer to give the pet a ride home if they are neighbors. This dog was from Larchmont, so i left her at Lacey to be redeemed by owner. Going by the website, it looks like they picked her up shortly afterwards!
