Purple passion

One of the stand-out vehicles at Saturday’s Class Car Night Show in East Los Angeles was the purple and silver 1958 Thunderbird pictured above. C.J. Salgado took the photo and provided more details about the the car and event:

Pictured is Larry Watson’s 1958 Thunderbird, the “Vino Pisano,” seen in its beautiful custom wine purple and silver paint job … it was first sold in a pink scheme by the dealer in Bellflower. Displayed in various museums over the years, sporting one of the first door “poppers,” and with only 1,400 miles on it, this classic car was a crowd-pleaser. Watson was the legendary custom painter and pinstriper who passed away last year, so it was a thrilling treat for locals to see his work first-hand in ELA.
