Living small in Highland Park

Photo from theMLS.Com

A newly listed Highland Park property at 4845 Monte Vista Street comes with a detached garage, workshop and, according to the listing, “lots of potential with a lot of room to expand,” which will come in handy since the main house contains only 468-square-feet of space. The one-bedroom, one-bath house built in 1925 also features an impressive chimney but the roof over the front porch appears to missing some planks.  All this can be yours for $229,000.

  1. One of my biggest pet peeves about real estate listings– when they only have ONE photo!!!! Gahhh!

  2. is that a half of palm tree in the front yard? and spanish tile roof on a wood cottage? nice touch.

  3. Can’t really complain for the price…I’ll bet this will be flipped and back on the market for 400K!

  4. you are absolutely right. not a bad deal at all. and I stand corrected on the palm tree matter: it’s actually the chimney (didn’t have my glasses on when I looked at the picture earlier).

  5. Positive: A ten-minute walk — or less — to the Marmion Way Gold Line station.
Negative: A five-minute walk — or less — to an Avenues gang stronghold.
