$50 buys a Re-Lax-O-Table and supports a good cause

Central City Action Committee in Angeleno Heights is holding a three-day rummage sale to help send about two-dozen middle  and high school kids to Disneyland and summer camping trips.  After more students than expected enrolled in Central City’s summer program, the nonprofit group and its students have held a series of rummage sales and other fundraisers to pay for the trips and activities, said Director Maryanne Hayashi. “We have more kids coming in, and we don’t want to turn anyone away.”

The rummage sale includes a wide range of items, including clothes and toys as well as small appliances and a Dr. Widmoyer’s brand Re-Lax-O-Table. What is a Re-Lax-O-Table?  It’s a vintage massage and treatment table made for chiropractors. This Re-Lax-O-Table was used by a longtime resident of Echo Park who recently passed away. While the Central City kids are away at Disneyland next week, you can figure out where to put the Re-Lax-O-Table.

The rummage sale will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day until Friday, Aug. 5 at Central City Action Committee, 534 E. Edgeware Rd.
