A homicide in Cypress Park and a deadly standoff with police in Boyle Heights were among the major crimes reported. Here’s a rundown of incidents compiled by CrimeMapping for Friday, July 29 through Sunday, July 31:
Burglary reported in the 3900 block of Seneca Avenue.
A man who barricaded himself in a church on Echandia Street was shot and killed by an officer on Saturday. In a separate incident, an assault with a deadly weapon was reported in the 400 block of Savannah Street.
The body of burned male was discovered Friday morning near Figueroa Street and Avenue 28. On Friday night, an assault with a deadly weapon was reported near Avenue 27 and Idell.
East Los Angeles
A pair of early Saturday morning assaults were reported in the 1100 block of N. Hazzard and in the 500 block of Marget Ave. On Friday morning, a burglary with “entry by force” was reported in the 3800 block of Blanchard Street.
Burglary reported in the 300 block of Patton St. Two thefts reported Saturday morning in the 1400 block of Lake Shore Avenue and 1600 block of Sunset Blvd.
Three vehicle thefts reported across the neighborhood.
Assault with a deadly weapon reported at Newell and Ripple on Sunday night.
Sunday afternoon assault with a deadly weapon reported in the 5600 block of Ash Street. Three vehicles were broken within a short distance of Figueroa Street and York Boulevard.
Sunday night assault with a deadly weapon reported in the 2600 block of N. Broadway. Two vehicles were stolen near Supreme and Mission and in the 2800 block of Lincoln Park Ave.
Two burglaries reported on Friday morning, one in the 1000 block of W. Avenue 37; the other on the 600 block of Crane Blvd.
Burglary reported Friday morning in the 1800 block of Fanning St. Vehicles were stolen from the 3200 block of Descanso Drive and 800 block of Kodak Drive.
