El Sereno endures a week of shootings and violence

A Saturday night shooting that left three injured in El Sereno was the third shooting in a week that resulted in injuries and one death in the neighborhood, according to police and news reports.  The Saturday night victims were sitting in a parked car near Axtell Street and Eastern Avenue, reports ABC7.   It’s not clear what prompted the shooting, and the report did not provide any updates on the victims’ condition.

Saturday’s night shooting was preceded by a blast of gunfire on Wednesday night, August 17,  near Templeton Street and Chadwick Drive that left a man with a gunshot wound in the leg, according to The Voice Newspaper’s Facebook page. The Voice also reported that a man died from his injuries a few days after being shot on Sunday, August 14 in the 3300 block of Warwick Avenue. The suspects in that shooting fled in a red pick-up truck that collided with another vehicle a few blocks away, reports The Voice.

The Eastsider is checking with LAPD for more information about this past week’s shootings.
