CBS2 is reporting that LAPD detectives have identified a suspect in the shooting of a Silver Lake area restaurant worker who was fatally wounded in what police believe was a case of road rage. The 18-year-old suspect is in custody on a separate crime but is expected to be charged today with the Aug. 7 shooting of Juan Vasquez David Loma, according to CBS2. However, Capt. William Murphy with the Northeast Division tells The Eastsider that the charges may not be filed until Tuesday. The suspect is said to live within a mile of Silver Lake Boulevard and Scott Place, where the truck Loma was driving was fired upon.
