Update on Silver Lake shooting victim

NBC LA reported on Wednesday that Juan David Vasquez Loma, the Silver Lake restaurant worker who was shot in the head on Sunday morning, had died. Loma is technically “brain dead” but his body remains on life support as family members were en route from Mexico and a decision is made about organ donation, police said. “Clinically, he’s dead” homicide detective Larry Burcher with the Northeast Division said this morning. The suspects remain at large.

  1. Condolences to the family. It’s a damn shame.

The person that did this needs to be brought to justice and kept off our streets for good!

  2. Is there any more info on the altercation? Weren’t there two other people in the car?? I drive down that street multiple times a week as my boyfriend lives between Berkeley and Effie, and would sure like to know what went down.
    Super sad in any event…

  3. I think thats all the information there is on this @Lauren . honestly this neighborhood wont get any better until they remove all the taggers. The majority of these guys walk around with guns or shoot others without any remorse.
