Around The Eastsider

News and notes from other parts of the blog and beyond:

Echo Park Power Outage:  Electrical service has been restored to many of the 1,300 Echo Park area DWP customers who lost power this morning, according to a DWP spokeswoman. Crews are currently working to complete repairs of some downed wires and finish restoring service. A reader named Emmy who lives near Allesandro and Reservoir streets said power was out for about 90 minutes the morning. Service was restored shortly before 9 a.m. at her place. “I think the area of the black out was south of Scott, west of Alvarado, and maybe east of Coronado (?). Not sure how far down it went on the south. But I heard a lot of beeping coming from Sunset, so maybe some traffic lights there were affected.”
