Eastside Property: Here’s a chance to squeeze into the Silver Lake real estate market

It’s increasingly rare to find a single-family home in Silver Lake for less than $200,000.  That’s why this foreclosed property at 2970 London Street on the southern edge of Silver Lake stands out at $199,500, according to Redfin. Of course, there is a catch: the entire house is less than 700-square-feet in size, and it’s only two houses away from the Hollywood Freeway. But even this dinky property comes with those ever popular granite counter tops:

Property offers living room, formal dining room, cozy kitchen with granite counter tops, spacious and bright bedrooms, tiled bathroom with large attic.

  1. Ugh, granite countertops…the avocado green and harvest gold scourge of our time.

  2. Looks like a disaster… sometimes, things just need to be bulldozed and forgotten.

  3. If this place were bulldozed, I wonder if the city would allow a new owner to build a structure there without some sort of variance. The lot size is tiny and there’s no off-street parking that I can see. I actually think it’s fairly-priced. With about $25,000 worth of repairs, someone could have a nice place to live. First thing I’d do is replace those cheap-o Home Depot windows with some nice wooden ones.
