Two brothers dead in Silver Lake murder-suicide

The bodies of two brothers were found in a Silver Lake home Tuesday afternoon in what police say was a murder suicide, according to Daily News wire services. Officers were called by firefighters at about 3 p.m. to a residence in the 800 block of N. Coronado Street, where they found the bodies of brothers Christopher and Daniel Nguyen. Police said that Christopher Nguyen, 26, who was suffering from depression, shot and killed Daniel Nguyen, 28, while the older brother slept before shooting himself.

  1. I was wondering what was happening. I knew it was something big because there were a lot of police officers and detectives. At one point, my drive way was blocked by a police squad so I was unable to leave my property. My thoughts and prayers to the family of these two young men.

  2. Calling that area Silver Lake will probably ruffle someone’s feathers. I have always thought of that neighborhood Echo Park, but the unofficial boundary is pretty blurry through there.

  3. Daniel was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him.

  4. can you people have some respect .. who cares what the boundaries are for echo park and silverlakr … a dear friend of mine is gone .. go fuck yourselves

    • Seriously…someone passed away and all these people talk about is either a) themselves (omg they blocked my driveway…me me me….or some stupid debate on city boundaries?!).

  5. How terribly tragic for the family and friends. I am so sorry for your loss Max and Bully.

  6. Derek writes “calling the area Silver Lake will probably ruffle some feathers,” seemingly without a clue that figuratively standing over the tragedy of these two dead young men and talking about neighborhood borders is way out of bounds.

My condolences to the family and friends of Christopher and Daniel.

  7. Even if technically it is silverlake philosophically it is definitely Echo Pak.

  8. This is very sad. My condolences to the families of Daniel and Christopher.
